Vanity stool

concept

This stool was designed based on the concept of femininity and the craft of embroidery. The form was inspired by the craft itself, with the wooden band and brass tacks reminiscent of the embroidery hoop. The rounded form and floral embroidery recall traditional ideals of femininity.

COnstruction

All construction and embroidery was done by hand.

Materials: embroidery floss, linen, foam cushion, oak dowels, oak veneer, plywood, brass upholstery tacks
